HEART OF THE CITY

Water is life.

At Heart of the City Festival 2024, MascallDance presented a workshop for anyone wanting to honour, explore, and celebrate water and our interconnections with it, and explore the body’s fluid system.

Spending time relating to water, what can we learn? Can we rediscover ourselves as fluid beings in everyday life? Embodying our fluidity, do we act differently in the world?

Jennifer and Kelly guided participants through a series of invitations to get to know water more deeply. We explored the internal waters of our own bodies through subtle movement, breath, and sound.

Touching, tasting, moving and listening to water, we connected with the water’s quality of being.

Arriving for the final half hour of the workshop Savannah Walling, Co-Direct of the Heart of the City Festival said “when I entered the room, the presence of water was so strong I felt like a fish!”
