Greetings in this strange time.

In just a few short months, COVID-19 has grown into a global pandemic.

On Day #53 of BC's Shelter In Place, we're taking a moment to celebrate our vibrant, impossibly strong dance community – a gig economy hard hit by Covid19 economics.

The very ground the performing arts stand on – gathering with others - has vanished. 

Projects and performance dates are gone - or suspended in freefall. Jobs -   in some cases entire businesses - are lost.  It’s a mad scramble.  In this time, MascallDance has focussed on providing opportunities for dance artists to continue working, earning, and connecting - from the peculiar learning curve of zoom rehearsal to standing by to pay an artist’s rent. 

Today is about sparking a massive, collective spike of generosity and giving of all kinds to help address this unprecedented need.

GIVING TUESDAY NOW is an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19. Across Canada and around the world, healthcare systems are overwhelmed and millions of vulnerable people need support as social distancing and the economic impact take their toll. Giving Tuesday Now is a group effort to drive an influx of generosity, citizen engagement, business and philanthropy activation, and support for communities and charities around the world.
